Blogging is definitely an activity I seldom enjoyed. Although it is a brand new experience, I was not thrilled at all to blog. Perhaps due to my workload, school work excluded, I barely found sufficient time to blog, especially with limitation for me to connect to the web constantly. Thus, I needed to admit that I did not contribute significantly to the blog due to the lack of experience and time. Furthermore, several late submissions indeed made me feel guiltier.
Nevertheless, it was still a great learning experience. I had learnt to elaborate viewpoints openly and became more cautious about the word used and interpreted. Blogging can be a useful way to present a perspective, an idea or opinions. Many blogs function as personal online diaries too. Indeed, there are numerous cases that bloggers were found to use inappropriate words or expressing discriminating viewpoints and some were even charged on court. Thus, it is still important that one should remember the openness of blog. Relating to my personal experience, a close friend of mine found an argumentative entry on her buddy’s blog. She was devastated at how the best friend had criticized her openly. It broke her heart instantly and I was definitely saddened by this circumstance. This is an ideal example of blog that hurts. Thus, bloggers need to write sensibly too, with great understanding on people related to the blog. Blogging, to a certain extent, seems comparable to literature.

It also seems suitable to share some of my feedbacks on this blogging experience. I feel that it would be a more interesting experience if there is a major theme behind all the topics we had blogged on, such as sports, food or a country. Overall, adoption of the topics from current trend still sounds appealing. In short, this blogging experience is considered memoriable and meaningful, but most probably I will never blog again.

Emotional intelligence (EQ) is an important soft skill that many had acquired. It can be developed through life experience, thinking skills or inspirations. Both articles related EQ to job-seeking, thus it has become a new trend that EQ is identified as an important factor to influence employers’ choice.
As mentioned in the Globe and Mail article, EQ also affects how one builds relationships, this enhanced its importance in a multi-cultural and multi-racial working environment. The ability to create and sustain relationship among fellow workers can foster teamwork and cooperativeness in workplace. This will in term generate greater efficiency and coordination within the company. The article also implied that EQ allows worker to be open to new skills and knowledge, it will be essential for a company with innovative skills and practices.
EQ can determine the workability and capability of individual worker to a great extent, that it shows their ability to create positive influences or even changes. Personally, I would suggest that EQ also determines how the IQ is demonstrated, as it is through EQ, one makes his or her decision to develop the IQ fully. Truly, EQ has the final say in all our decision-makings. According to researchers, a normal person makes 6000 decisions daily and each of them may create either positive or adverse influences. Of course, this applies to our daily work-related decisions too. Thus, an employer will favor workers who can make a difference to create positive change or influence.

Lastly, it seems to be more important that EQ greatly accounts for how one react in the face of adversities and tough situations. Employers would not want to entertain job-hoppers who have minimal resistance against risks and resilience in tough times. In fact, loyalty and sense of belonging are generated through EQ.

In summary, it is the qualification that grabs a job, but it takes EQ for one to choose to live out the qualification off the certificate and that secures a position.

English had been regarded as the most useful language. It was the common language of the world, just as how the whole China had been unified using a common language, Chinese, also called PuTong Hua by them. The importance of a common language is to enable communication despite the persons involved came from different cultural background. With the common language, least effort would be poured in to reduce miscommunication. Thus, it is beneficial if the whole world will be speaking and communicating in a common language, English. Currently, English is the closest choices from millions of languages in the world. Being a dominant language in the western society, it is strongly influential and is found to be seeking the way into different parts of the world, in fact, the entire world.

As mentioned is Korean’s article, the language has anchored human progress. Today, English’s supremacy is strongly stabilized and strengthened by the fact that China, the country with the most population in the world, is creating a series of policies to induce English into their society. It is mentioned and clearly elaborated in the China Post article.

However, there will also be challenges in preserving the original language if the importance of maintaining both Chinese and English are not recognized. With the probable perception that English-speaking regarded as most prestigious over Chinese-speaking, the government should also promote the preservation of Chinese at the same time. It is truly possible to allow them to co-exist, but judging or weighing the languages would be the most foolish thing to do. After all, languages are only tools to connect people by communicating.

Overall, I am thrilled and looking forward to see that English become the unofficial world language and the benefits this English drive can make.
